The filter feature in PandaPow WiFi allows you to Exclude or Include traffic through the VPN connection. For example, the excluded traffic will bypass the VPN and go through the “normal” Internet connection instead.
First, make sure your PandaPow WiFi is up to date. Open wifi.pandapow.co (or 192.168.2.1) in your browser, and then navigate to the About tab, and then click “Check for updates” and follow the instructions.
When your PandaPow WiFi is updated, it should look similar to the image below, click on Filter, and then VPN Filter.
All Internet traffic goes through the VPN without exception.
From here you can exclude specific Domains, IPs and Ports that you want to bypass the VPN and go through the “normal” Internet connection instead.
How to exclude a specific domain:
Step 1: Click on the Filter tab and then Exclude.
Step 2: Click on “Excluded Domains” as in the picture below.
Step 3: Click on the “Add” button.
Step 4: Exclude a website by adding its domain name to this list. Note that you should normally leave out the ‘www.’ from the domain name. For example if you want to exclude a website called ‘www.somesite.com’, just type in ‘somesite.com’. This also covers all “sub domains” such as ‘blog.somesite.com’ etc.
See this example:
This example is for www.baidu.com
When you have filled in your website, click OK and then finally Apply in the bottom right corner. Do this for as many domains as you wish.
Step 1: Click on Excluded IPs and Ports and then click on “Add”
- In the Optional subnet(s) field, enter the IP address that you want to exclude.
- In the Optional port(s) field, enter the ports that you want to exclude.
- In the Name field, enter a name (it can be anything).
Step 3: Click OK, and then finally Apply in the bottom right corner. Do this for as many IPs and Ports as you wish.
The Include function works the opposite way of Exclude, only Domains, IPs and Ports that you configure here will be using VPN. All other Internet traffic will bypass the VPN connection and go through the “normal” Internet connection.
This is configured the same way as “Exclude”.
Here are all clients connected to the PandaPow WiFi. You can select to turn the VPN off for a specific client. The one in bold is your current device.
Below is an example of two devices being connected to PandaPow WiFi, one of them is a Xbox One and the other one is a MacBook Air.
From here we can easily turn the VPN off for a specific device.
We have created some useful configurations that you can import directly into your PandaPow WiFi. For more information, please check this page.
